Junior High Hornets Pick Up Wins Over CV

The Wellsboro Junior High Basketball programs picked up a pair of wins at home against Cowanesque Valley on Wednesday, November 9.
The young Lady Hornets earned their first wins of the year. The A team won 40-14 and the B team won 14-12.
The boys team improved to 4-0 with a 40-23 win in the A game and a 28-12 B team victory.
Lauren Gehman led the Lady Hornets with 12 points and Teagan Novinger added 10. Kate Bryant pitched in 8 points while Peyton Keane scored 4. Rosa Sguera led Wellsboro with 6 points in the B game.
In the boys game Max Mascho and Ethan Keane scored 13 points each with Mascho grabbing 6 boards and Keane making 9 steals. Griffin Morral added 8 points, Ransom Schultz had 9 rebounds, Gideon Lawton made 3 assists, and RJ Doughtie came away with a pair of steals.
Luke Szentesy and Jacob Brown scored 8 points each in the B game.
Both teams are back in action at home on Saturday morning against Northeast Bradford.
