A 27-point fourth quarter gave the Wellsboro Varsity Boys Basketball team a 69-36 win over Williamson on Wednesday, February 9.
The win ends a two-game skid for the Hornets.
Senior Darryn Callahan tied his career-high scoring total of 20 points and senior Liam Manning added 19 help guide the Hornets to victory. Junior Peyton McClure scored 11, junior Conner Adams added 7, sophomore Hayes Campbell scored 6, senior Drew Manning pitched in 4 points, and junior Cameron Brought rounded out the scoring with 2 points.
Adams added 11 assists and 4 rebounds, Brought grabbed 8 rebounds, Callahan made 5 assists, Campbell and Liam Manning grabbed 7 rebounds apiece, and McClure added 3 assists and 3 rebounds. Sophomore Caden Smith also added 4 assists.
In the JV game the Hornets defeated Williamson 48-28 for their 9th win of the season. Sophomore Ian Hoose led Wellsboro with 11, Smith added 9, and sophomore Watson Feil pitched in 7.
The win improves the Hornets' record to 14-4 (11-2 NTL Large School Division). The team is back in action on Friday, February 11 at Athens before turning around the next day to face rival North Penn-Mansfield Saturday afternoon.
