Hornets Rally In 2nd Half To Top NEB

The Wellsboro Varsity Boys Soccer team put together a second half rally to defeat Northeast Bradford on Wednesday, September 28, keeping them undefeated in league play.

The Panthers scored a pair of goals in the first half, but the Hornets rallied with four goals in the second half to top the host Panthers.

Senior Sam Rudy recorded a hat trick and senior Jack Poirier added a single goal. Senior Peyton McClure, sophomore Alex Citrino, junior Caden Smith, and Poirier all had assists. Senior Aiden Gehman recorded 4 saves in goal.

Wellsboro out shot NEB 14-4 and had a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.

There was no JV game.

The win improves the Hornets' record to 9-2 (8-0 NTL). The team is back in action at home against Northeast Bradford on Tuesday, October 4.
