The Wellsboro Golf team finished 3rd at their home course, Tyoga Golf Course, on a rainy Monday afternoon on August 22.
The Hornets shot a 379 combined score, finishing just 4-strokes behind Wyalusing (375) and 14 back of Athens (365). North Penn-Mansfield finished 4th (389), Cowanesque Valley (436) was 5th, Towanda (525) was 6th, and Sayre rounded out the field with a score of 564.
Senior Blake Hamblin led Wellsboro as he shot 84 to tie for 3rd place individually with Cowanesque Valley's Jordan Vargeson. North Penn-Mansfield's Andrew Green (81) and Athens' Evan Cooper (82) were the top two finishers.
Junior Hannalee Cleveland shot a 92, junior Hayden Zuchowski finished with a round of 93, junior Silas Jackson was the 4th Hornet in the clubhouse with a 110, senior Sam Rudy, who was the Hornets' top-finisher last week at Shepard Hills, came home with a 112, and freshman Kiernen Whitsell rounded out the roster with a 139.
Next up for the Hornets (4-2, 4-2 NTL) will be back on the links on Thursday, September 1 at Towanda Country Club.
