The Wellsboro Golf team had their best outing of the season on Tuesday, September 20, as they took home 2nd place at Towanda Country Club.
Wellsboro shot a combined team score of 357 to finish 10 strokes back of Athens (347). Wyalusing (362) was 3rd, North Penn-Mansfield (381) was 4th, Cowanesque Valley (391) finished 5th, Towanda (439) came home 6th, and Sayre rounded out the field with a 463.
Junior Hayden Zuchowski finished 3rd overall with a round of 82 and senior Blake Hamblin shot an 87. Hamblin has now accounted for over 100 wins in his career.
Junior Hannalee Cleveland shot 93, senior Andrew Merriman carded a 95, junior Silas Jackson finished with a 124, and freshman Kiernen Whitsell rounded out the team with a 129.
Wellsboro improves to 18-12 on the year and currently sit in 3rd overall in the NTL. The team is back in action for their final regular season match at Tomasso's Country Club next Monday, September 26.
