The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Basketball team suffered their second straight non-league loss, this time to Coudersport, on Wednesday, December 29.
The Lady Falcons defeated Wellsboro 42-35, due to a 12-2 first quarter that put the Lady Hornets in a hole early. Wellsboro did outscore Coudersport 14-13 to start the second half, but it was too little too late.
Senior Emma Coolidge led the Lady Hornets with 13 points, junior Ella Posada had 8, senior Emma Brandenburg and sophomore Maddy Mascho scored 4 each, and freshman Paige Logsdon chipped in two points.
Wellsboro lost the JV game 17-10 to start out the afternoon. Freshman Alexandra Urena led Wellsboro with 6 points.
The loss drops the Lady Hornets to 4-3. The team will be back in action on Wednesday, January 5 against Troy.
