Lady Hornets fall to Athens, 1-0

The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team fell to Athens 1-0 on Wednesday, September 22.
The Lady Wildcats scored the game's lone goal with 1:40 remaining in the first half.
Athens took 18 shots on goal, 17 of which were stopped by senior Lilly Abadi.
Wellsboro was held to just two shots on goal, one by senior Emma Coolidge and the other by senior Hannah Morey.
The Lady Hornets did score a victory on the night as they won the JV game 201. Freshman Chloe Brandenburg and sophomore Emily Richardson scored for Wellsboro.
The loss drops the Lady Hornets' record to 1-4 (1-2 NTL). The team is back in action later this afternoon as they host Towanda.
