Kruskie, Blair headed to state cross-country meet

BLOOMSBURG - Selinsgrove sophomore Shaela Kruskie finished second in the girls race, and Derick Blair's 10th place finish in the boys meet earned both sports in next weekend's Class 2A PIAA meet in Hershey.
Kruskie finished in 19:24.6. Bloomsburg's Maizy Aikey won the race in 19:12.
Blair finished 10th in 16:59. Lewisburg's Jacob Hess ran the race by 21 seconds, finishing in 15:39.
Danville won the girls team race in Class 2A, while the Green Dragons won the boys title.
Maryrose Molina-Shuman (25:29), Madison Miller (27:04), Julia Kline (30:01) and Lucy Ensling (36:42) also competed for the Seals.
The Selinsgrove boys finished sixth as a team. Zach Wentz finished in 24th (18:05) and Gabe Schaeffer was 27th (18:29). Jarrett Lee (19:24) and Ben Malehorn (20:14) also finished in the top 50 for the Seals.
