The Hughesville Lady Spartans shut out the Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team 6-0 on Monday, September 13.
The game was called with 5:43 remaining in the second half due to lightning strikes in the area.
Hughesville scored 4 first half goals and added two more in the second. They attempted 21 shots on goal and had 10 corner kicks, while holding the Lady Hornets to 0 in both categories.
Senior Lilly Abadi had 14 saves in goal for Wellsboro.
"The girls are learning to play with each other and that can sometimes take weeks, but we are still working," head coach Jorge Taboada said.
The loss drops the Lady Hornets to 1-2 (1-0 NTL). The team is back in action on Wednesday, September 15 at home against Towanda.
