SELINSGROVE — Avery DeFazio scored a career-best 28 points — all but seven in the first half — to carry Selinsgrove to a 53-14 win over Midd-West on Wednesday in Heartland Athletic Conference-Division I girls basketball.
DeFazio, a senior whose previous high was 16 (twice), had 11 first-quarter points on the strength of three 3-pointers. She scored 10 of the Seals' 16 second-quarter points for a 35-11 halftime lead.
Cierra Adams and Alyssa Latsha added eight and four points, respectively, for Selinsgrove (3-1 overall, 2-0 HAC-I).
