Senior Kerrah Clymer announced on Tuesday, June 1 that she is continuing her soccer career this fall close to home at Mansfield University.

Clymer will be joining former Wellsboro Boys Soccer head coach, and current Mansfield University Women's Head Coach, John Shaffer. She will be one of 11 recruits that will suit up this fall for the Lady Mounties while she begins studying nursing.

"I'm really excited for new challenges and playing at a higher level and seeing what I'm capable of," she said. "I've on been there a couple times but it seems really nice."

Like most recruits during this past year due to COVID-19, Clymer hasn't met any of her new teammates.

"Playing with new people is going to be interesting but I'm excited to meet them all and play with them."

Clymer was named the NTL's Offensive Player of the Year after she returned from a torn ACL during her junior year to score a league-leading 35 goals. She also set a new Wellsboro record of 7 goals in a single game against rival North Penn-Mansfield. In just three years Clymer scored 76 career goals, 6 shy of Alexis Getty's career-leading 82 from 2007-2010.

"Kerrah aligns with myself and the program value-wise," said fourth-year head coach John Shaffer. "She brings great character to the team and on the field she brings a great work ethic, tenacity, and a finisher's touch. She looks to score goals, she can be greedy that way, which is what we want in a forward, and so both on and off the field she brings a lot to the program."

WellsboroAthletics.com would like to congratulate Kerrah on continuing both her academic and athletic careers at Mansfield University.
