Warrior grapplers top South Williamsport

The Canton Varsity Wrestling team came off a major NTL win over Wyalusing last Saturday and beat South Williamsport 48-17 on Tuesday, January 7.

Garrett Storch started off the evening with a forfeit at 182 which led to 4 consecutive wins. Dereck Atherton-Ely (195), Trevor Williams (220), and Jaden Fantini-Hulslander (285) rolled off three straight pins to give Canton a quick 24-0 lead.

Bailey Ferguson split a pair of South Williamsport wins at 106 and 126, Hayden Ward scored a 1:26 pin fall at 132, then Brenen Taylor (152), Zeke Gilliland (160), and Timmy Ward (170) scored a pin and pair of decisions in the final three matches.

The win keeps the Warriors undefeated at 5-0 (4-0 NTL) and tied atop the league standings with Athens. Canton travels to Northeast Bradford tonight.
