In their second league match of the season the Wellsboro Golf team improved upon last week's finish and scored a 2nd place finish at Corey Creek Country Club on Tuesday, September 8.

"The team showed a lot of improvements today and the score proved it," said head coach Steve Macensky. "We improved by 18 shots from the first match. A second place finish at Mansfield’s home course is a good result for us."

North Penn-Mansfield (342) won their second match of the season while Hornet senior Brock Hamblin took top spot for the second match in a row with a score of 81, edging Mansfield's Andrew Green by a stroke. Sayre (393) was 3rd, Cowanesque Valley (400) was 4th, Athens (406) was 5th, Wyalusing (408) was 6th, and Towanda (426) rounded out the field in 7th.

Sophomore Blake Hamblin shot 93, sophomore Andrew Merriman came home with a 99, freshman Hayden Zuchowski finished with 106, sophomore Reece Servatius carded a 111, and Elizabeth Propheta shot 116.

Wellsboro (9-3, 9-3 NTL) will be back on the links on Tuesday, September 15 at River Valley Country Club.
