Redell, Poirier reach quarterfinals of D4 doubles tournament

The doubles team of senior Nate Redell and sophomore Will Poirier reached the quarterfinal round of the PIAA District IV Boys Tennis doubles tournament at Williamsport High School on Saturday, May 11.
Redell and Poirier defeated Towanda's Poll and Yrigollen 6-2, 6-1 in the opening round then defeated Shikellamy's Mercado and Lyles to advance to the quarterfinals, where they suffered a 4-6, 6-0, 6-2 defeat to Central Columbia's Ryan and Hazzard.
The team of junior Luke Leach and sophomore Ethan Ryan were also in action on the day. They opened play by beating Bloomsburg's Kenney and McBride before falling to Selinsgrove's DeFazio and Thompson in the second round.
