The Wellsoro Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Towanda and swept the Lady Black Knights 3-0 on Thursday, September 5.
The Lady Hornets edged Towanda 26-24 in the first set then went on to take the 2nd 25-16 and then closed the match out in the 3rd set with a 25-13 win.
Senior Caitlyn Callahan led Wellsboro with 15 kills, 10 points (1 ace), and 2 blocks, junior Kathryn Burnett scored 13 points with 3 aces and 8 digs, junior Breighanna Kemp had 6 kills, 13 assists, and 8 points (2 aces), sophomore Jordan Judlin made 16 assists, senior Ryann Adams made 12 digs, and sophomore Emma Owlett added 5 kills.
Wellsboro started out the night with a 2-0 win (25-19, 25-11) in the JV game to improve to 2-0 on the season.
The win improves the Lady Hornets' record to 2-0 (2-0 NTL Large School Division). The team will be back in action Monday, September 9 when they host Williamsport.
