Lady Hornets sweep Athens, improve to 15-2

The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team swept Athens on Tuesday, October 15 to improve to 15-2 on the year.

The Lady Hornets were in complete control over the course of the match winning 25-12, 25-15, and 25-7.

Senior Caitlyn Callahan led Wellsboro with 21 kills, 8 points, and 4 aces, senior Megan Starkweather had 15 assists and 4 kills, senior Ryann Adams recorded 17 digs and scored 7 points (2 aces). Junior Breighanna Kemp had 17 points (3 aces), 5 kills, 10 assists, and 9 digs. Junior Bailey Monks added 2 blocks.

In the JV game the Lady Hornets won 2-0, edging Athens 26-24 in the first set then winning 25-16 in the second set.

The win improves the Lady Hornets to 15-2 (10-1 NTL Large School Division). The team is back in action on the road against rival North Penn-Liberty on Friday, October 18.
