TURBOTVILLE—In the fifth inning Maddy Bordner came up the plate with her team well in front. She gave them an even bigger cushion.
Bordner drove a pitch over the fence to score three more runs to extend Williams Valley’s lead over Northeast Bradford. It was only a matter of finishing the game out as the Vikings recorded the final three outs to secure a 16-0 win over the Panthers to advance in the PIAA Class A Softball Playoffs.
The win will advance Williams Valley to face the winner of Greenwood and Faith Christian. For Northeast Bradford the loss drops it to 16-7 and ends the season.
Jorja Welch, who made a nice tag on a runner attempting to steal second in the middle of the game, finished with the Panthers only hit. She drove a ball through the infield for a double, but was stranded.
