The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team rebounded from a tough loss earlier in the week to sweep Troy 3-0 on Thursday, September 27.
The Lady Hornets cruised to a 25-13 win in the first set. Troy kept the second set close but still fell 25-20, and again the Lady Hornets cruised in the third set, winning 25-11.
Junior Ryann Adams recorded 25 digs, 10 points, and 2 assists; junior Caitlyn Callahan had 17 points, 3 aces, 15 digs, and 9 kills; sophomore Breighanna Kemp made 12 assists and scored 11 points (2 aces); and sophomore Bailey Monks added 4 kills and a block. Senior Heidi Zuchowski added 8 kills, junior Megan Starkweather had 10 assists, and sophomore Shiloh Duff added a block.
Wellsboro's JV team also had success on the evening, breaking a 5-game losing streak with a 2-1 (25-17, 22-25, 15-13) win.
The win improves the Varsity team's record to 9-1 (7-1 NTL Large School Division). The team is back in action on Tuesday, October 2 at Towanda.
