Five Northern Tier League Football players were named to the PA Writers All-State Class A Football team on Friday, December 28.
Canton had two selections in Ben Knapp and Timmy Ward, Muncy had two picks in Mike Kustanbauter and Dylan Wilt, and Montgomery was represented with Rhyle Strausbaugh.
Knapp was selected at tight end after catching 34 passes for 548 yards and 5 touchdowns. Ward was picked at defensive back after he recorded 84 tackles, 11 interceptions, and 1 recovered fumble.
Kustanbauter led the NTL with 205 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 2 recovered fumbles, and 2 sacks. Wilt was selected at the athlete position as he led the NTL with 1,005 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns in addition to returning 12 kicks for 293 yards and a touchdown, 14 punts for 114 yards and 2 scores, and grabbing 7 interceptions.
Strausbaugh led Montgomery, and was 2nd in the league, in tackles with 172. He also had an interception, 2 pass breakups, 2 forced fumbles, a recovered fumble, and 3 sacks.
