Wyalusing, Wellsboro, Troy, Liberty, Williamson pick up volleyball wins

Wyalusing, Wellsboro, Troy, Liberty, and Williamson picked up NTL volleyball wins on Tuesday, September 12.

Wellsboro 3, Canton 0

The Lady Hornets took the first set 25-12 then won the second 25-18 and the third 25-16.

Senior Cheyenne Sherman had 7 kills and 16 digs, sophomore Caitlyn Callahan had 1 block and 7 kills, senior Brianne Keane had 22 assists, and senior Jillian Graver made 2 blocks, scored 9 points and had an ace.

Junior Heidi Zuchowski scored 9 points, had 4 aces and 4 kills, sophomore Megan Starkweather had 4 kills, senior Hannah Burnett had 8 digs, and sophomore Ryann Adams scored 9 points.

Wellsboro won the JV game 2-0 (25-18, 25-17) to improve to 3-0.

Wyalusing 3, Sayre 1

The Lady Rams beat Sayre 25-16 in the first set and Sayre tied it up in the second with a 25-21 win. Wyalusing then rebounded to win the third set 25-12 then closed out the game with 25-18 fourth set.

Karlye Huffman recorded 35 assists, 5 aces, and 1 block; Melody Kneller had 22 kills; Makayla Voda made 4 kills and 2 blocks; Lylah Oswald made 10 kills; and Kristie Epler registered 32 digs.

Troy 3, Northeast Bradford 0

Emilie Cole scored 15 points, Cassie Shedden pitched in 11 points and 10 aces, and Caitlin DeLosa scored 9 points and made 6 kills to improve Troy to 3-0.

North Penn-Liberty 3, Port Allegany 1

The Lady Mounties improved to 4-0 (3-0 NTL Large School Division) by defeating the Lady Gators. Charisma Grega made 17 kills and had 8 dig, Maddison Minyo had 10 kills, JoAnne McNamara had 21 assists, Savannah Doney made 13 digs, Mariah Kshir had 16 assists, and Brooke Harvey made 9 digs.

Williamson 3, Towanda 1

Madi Doss made 28 digs and scored 18 points for Towanda in their loss to Williamson. Hannah Chandler scored 9 points and made 11 digs, Rachael Bair had 9 digs, and Sydney Schoonover had 16 kills and 9 blocks.
