Wellsboro topped Galeton 3-1 on Monday, September 25 to erase a two-game losing streak.
The Lady Hornets dominated the first set winning 25-5 but rebounded to even the game at 1-1 by winning set two, 25-23. Wellsboro went on to win the third 25-18 and the fourth 25-15 to erase their two-game losing streak.
Wellsboro's Caitlyn Callahan scored 17 points, had 9 aces, and 10 kills. Jillian Graver scored 10 points and had 5 aces, Cheyenne Sherman had 8 digs and 7 kills, Ryann Adams made 14 digs, Heidi Zuchowski had 7 kills, Megan Starkweather had 2 blocks, and Brianne Keane recorded 27 assists.
Starkweather, Keane, and senior Hannah Burnett all scored 8 points and had 2 aces while serving.
Liberty remained undefeated with a sweep of Corning-Painted Post on Monday. Charisma Grega led the team with 11 points, 1 ace, 10 kills, 13 receptions, 1 block, and 12 digs; Brooke Harvey added 9 points, 2 aces, 8 kills, 8 receptions, and 7 digs; Maddison Minyo had 15 points, 2 aces, 4 kills, 1 block, and 6 digs; Savannah Doney led the defense with 2 points, 18 receptions, and 15 digs; JoAnne McNamara added 6 points, 1 ace, 1 kill, 15 assists, and 4 digs; Mariah Kshir had 1 point, 2 kills, 9 assists, and 4 digs; Elli Fry added 4 kills, 1 block, and 1 dig; and Haley Monks had 2 kills, 3 assists and 1 dig.
