Northern Tioga wins NTL golf title

The Northern Tioga Golf team captured the NTL golf title on Monday, October 2 with a 1st place finish at Tomasso's Country Club.
The Warriors edged Wellsboro 322-326 to finish the regular season 34-1, their only loss coming last week to Wellsboro on the Hornets' home course of Tyoga Country Club.
Sayre's Ryan Murrelle won the match with a round of 74, but Northern Tioga had 4 golfers in the top-6 to bring home the win.
Austin Outman finished 2nd overall with a 76 and tied with Wellsboro's Ben Barnett, Wellsboro's Brandyn Tuttle finished 4th overall with a round of 78, Tyler Vargeson shot an 80 to finish 5th, and Tanner Adriance and Christian Kemp shot 83's to tie for 6th with Towanda's Tyler Wilcox. There was a four-way tie for 9th between Sayre's Nat Sweet, Towanda's Bobby Farley, and Wellsboro's Taynton Repard and Joseph Propheta.
Rounding out the team scores were Sayre (349) in 3rd, Towanda (356) in 4th, Athens (369) in 5th, and North Penn-Mansfield (374) in 6th.
Wellsboro finished 2nd in the league at 29-6, Sayre (20-15) was 3rd, Towanda (13-22) was 4th, North Penn-Mansfield (5-30) was 5th, and Athens (4-31) was 6th.
