The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team picked up a three-set sweep of NTL Large School Division rival Troy on Tuesday, September 26.
The Lady Hornets dominated on the night and won each set by 10+ points. Wellsboro won 25-11, 25-14, and 25-12 to win their second straight game in back-to-back days.
Sophomore Caitlyn Callahan led Wellsboro on the night with 10 kills, 11 points, 3 aces, and 1 block. Senior Cheyenne Sherman had 9 kills and a block, sophomore Megan Starkweather had 13 points and 2 aces, senior Hannah Burnett had 11 digs, 8 points, and 3 aces, and senior Brianne Keane had 21 assists and a block.
Sophomore Ryann Adams pitched in with 11 digs and junior Heidi Zuchowski had 3 kills.
In the JV game, Wellsboro won a tightly contested game 2-1 (25-18, 23-25, 15-13) to improve to 9-1 overall.
The win improves the Lady Hornets to 8-2 (5-2 NTL Large School Division). The team will be back in action on Thursday, September 28 against Sayre.
