The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team won their third game in four days by beating Sayre 3-0 on Thursday, September 28.
The Lady Hornets took the first set 25-14 and held on to win the second 25-23 before cruising 25-10 in the third set to take the game.
Senior Brianne Keane led Wellsboro with 20 assists, 14 points, and 3 aces; junior Heidi Zuchowski had 12 points and 4 aces; senior Cheyenne Sherman had 8 kills and 8 digs; and sophomore Caitlyn Callahan had 5 kills and 2 blocks. Senior Jillian Graver recorded 5 kills, sophomore Megan Starkweather had 6 kills, and sophomore Ryann Adams added 12 digs.
Wellsboro's JV team also won their game 2-0 (25-14, 25-22) to improve to 10-1.
The win improves the Varsity team's record to 9-2 (6-2 NTL Large School Division). The team will be back in action on Saturday, September 30 at Cowanesque Valley.
