The Wellsboro Varsity Wrestling team picked up two wins at the Coudersport Duals on Saturday, January 7.
The Hornets picked up wins over Sheffield and Youngsville, while losing to Coudersport, Oswayo Valley, and Johnsonburg.
Freshman Connor Ramsey scored a forfeit at 132, freshman Aidan Hauser pinned Tyler Dembinski at 138, senior Caleb Sinkler pinned Cody Marfink at 152, sophomore Jared Moreno pinned Jarrett Collins at 160, sophomore Hunter Brown pinned Casey Andreson at 195, sophomore Robert Brown won by forfeit at 220, and senior Kaleb Smith pinned Nick Knowles at 285.
Sinkler pinned Owen Engstrom at 152, Moreno pinned Aaron Melquist at 160, Hunter Brown won by forfeit at 195, and Robert Brown won by forfeit at 285.
Hauser won a 20-5 tech fall over Chase Fuller at 138, Smith pinned Corey Thompson at 220, and Robert Brown pinned Jeffrey Gunn at 285.
Ramsey pinned Colton Gietler at 132, Hauser pinned Michael Hewitt at 138, Moreno pinned Simon Couls at 160, and Smith pinned Michael VanDergrift at 220.
Hunter Brown, Robert Brown, and Kaleb Smith all scored forfeits.
The Hornets are now 3-8 (1-3 NTL). The team will be back in action this evening at Wyalusing.
