The Wellsboro Varsity Wrestling team split matches with Williamson and Sugar Valley Rural Charter during Senior Night on Tuesday, February 14.
Wellsboro beat Williamson 42-18 as the Hornets won 7 matches on the night. In the three matches that were contested, freshman Connor Ramsey pinned Leonard Austin at 138 lbs., sophomore Jared Moreno pinned Brendan Hungerford at 160 lbs., and sophomore Robert Brown pinned Dylan Troncone at 220 lbs.
Senior Kaleb Smith (285 lbs.), senior Caleb Sinkler (145 lbs.), freshman Aidan Hauser (152 lbs.), and sophomore Hunter Brown (195 lbs.) all earned forfeits on the night.
Sugar Valley Rural Charter edged Wellsboro 36-30 as the Hornets won 5 matches. Smith pinned Chandler Collins at 285 lbs. and Sinkler pinned Andrew Ripka at 152 lbs. Hunter Brown, Hauser and Moreno scored forfeits, and Ramsey and Robert Brown were pinned.
The Hornets end the dual match season with a record of 5-18.
