The Wellsboro Varsity Wrestling team suffered their second straight NTL loss as Sayre won a 30-30 match by criteria on Tuesday, January 17.
After double forfeits at 106 and 113, Sayre scored forfeits at 120 and 126. Freshman Connor Ramsey and senior Caleb Sinkler won by forfeit at 138 and 145. Sayre won forfeits at at 152 and 182, while sophomore Hunter Brown (195), sophomore Robert Brown (220), and senior Kaleb Smith (285) won by forfeit.
In the lone, and deciding, match of the evening, Sayre's Matthew Ingrassia pinned sophomore Jared Moreno in 3:46 to tie the match at 30-30, giving Sayre the win by criteria.
In the JV match, Wellsboro won 39-30.
The Hornets travel to Wyalusing tonight before returning home to face rival North Penn-Liberty on Thursday, January 19.
