The Wellsboro Varsity Wrestling team suffered their third loss in the same number of days as rival North Penn-Liberty won 53-13 on Thursday, January 19.
The Mounties' Carl Dinger pinned freshman Connor Ramsey at 132 lbs., Cameron Andrews pinned senior Caleb Sinkler at 145 lbs., and Justin Kriner pinned sophomore Robert Brown at 285 lbs. The Mounties also won forfeits at 126, 138, 160, 170, 182, and 106.
The Hornets won three matches on the night. Senior Kaleb Smith won by forfeit at 220 lbs., sophomore Hunter Brown won an 11-1 major decision over Coby Knipe at 195 lbs., and sophomore Jared Moreno won a 7-2 decision over Casey Amaral at 160 lbs.
Wellsboro won the Middle School match 36-30.
The loss drops the Hornets' record to 3-12 (1-7 NTL). The team will be back in action this Saturday at the Battle of the Border Tournament.
