The Cowanesque Valley boys and the North Penn-Mansfield girls Cross Country teams each picked up pairs of wins in an NTL tri-meet on Tuesday, October 10.
Mansfield's girls beat Wellsboro 20-26 and CV 21-36. Wellsboro beat Mansfield 25-33. CV's Jules Jones won the race in 21:49, Mansfield's Lauren Ensminger was 2nd in 23:30, senior Anna Bleggi was 3rd in 23:52, Mansfield's Emma Harris was 4th in 24:09, and Mansfield's Carmen Bates rounded out the top 5 in 25:25.
Sophomore Kylie Butler (25:36) was 7th, junior Kara Doane (26:15) was 10th, junior Rachel Chamberlain (26:27) was 12th, sophomore Cathryn Brought (27:13) was 14th, freshman Aislinn Hoose (27:42) was 15th, sophomore Alex Chilson (28:09) was 16th, and freshman Alexis Banik (28:57) was 19th.
In the boys race, CV edged the Hornets 27-28 and beat Mansfield 22-28. Wellsboro beat Mansfield 24-32. CV's Madden Doud won the race in 18:27, junior Aidan Perry was 2nd in 18:34, Mansfield's Blake Nelson ran 18:55 for 3rd, senior Connor Brought was 4th in 19:10, and CV's George Reynolds was 5th in 19:18.
Junior Bergen Weiner (19:54) was 6th, junior Zack Busch (20:38) was 9th, sophomore Lucas Citrino (22:06) was 16th, senior Logan Morral (22:54) was 20th, junior Taylor Wheeler (24:59) was 24th, freshman Aidan Fletcher (25:02) was 25th, freshman Daniel Swanson (28:49) was 31st, sophomore Tyren Wetzel (30:33) was 32nd, and senior Noah Smith (35:30) was 34th.
All three teams are back in action on Saturday for the NTL Coaches Meet, then are off until the District IV Championships on Thursday, October 26 at Bloomsburg University.
