Senior Nathan Cotner wrapped up his High School swimming career at day two of the PIAA Championships at Bucknell University on Friday, March 17.
Cotner swam in the 100 Freestyle, where he finished 22nd overall with a time of 48.40.
"My race today felt amazing," Cotner said. "The pool felt fast and my walls were perfect. Out of all three years going to states this year was definitely my favorite! I had a blast with everyone and really took in the moments."
Cotner is a three-time state qualifier. Cotner qualified in the 200 Freestyle as a freshman and junior, and for the 100 and 200 Freestyle this year as a senior. Unlike the majority of District IV swimmers, the Wellsboro swimmers do not have a home pool to train in, and must travel for practices.
But that didn't stop Cotner and the other Wellsboro swimmers.
"It is such an honor reaching this level 3 times especially because we don't have a swim team," continued Cotner. "It shows my determination with my two hour commute six months out of the year andtwo2 consecutive years to practice every night, it makes it tough. I would like to thank Sue and the Williamsport swim club for providing me with the practices and coaching to reach this level. I am very thankful for how my high school career has gone and I can not wait for what my future swim career has in store."
WellsboroAthletics.com would like to congratulate Nathan on competing in his third PIAA Championship meet and thank him for all his hard work and dedication during his career.
