The Wellsboro Middle School Volleyball team lost in straight sets to North Penn-Liberty on Wednesday, October 12.
The Lady Hornets lost 25-7 and 25-23 to snap a 6-game winning streak.
"The second set was a phenomenal game with a lot of action, great defense and offense system of play, tremendous hustle and incredible teamwork," said head coach Jen Outman. "We were hoping and truly believed we would play a 3rd set, but unfortunately it didn't go our way. Set one loss was mainly due to a coaching error, I had two girls switched in the line-up. This put our system a little bit out of sync and was hard for the girls to adjust to."
Shiloh Duff led the team in service with 11 points, Brei Kemp led the team in assists with 11 and had 3 digs, and Bailey Monks led the team in hits with 2 spikes and 6 kills. Other players who contributed on the net were Kemp (2 hits and 2 kills), Chelsie English 3 spikes and 1 kill, Jordan Judlin with 3 spikes and 1 kill.
The B-team won 2-1 (25-23, 19-25, 15-12) on the night.
The loss drops the team's record to 9-2. The team will be back in action on Wednesday, October 19 at Williamson.
