The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team rebounded from an early season loss to Wyalusing to beat them 3-0 on Tuesday, October 11.
Wellsboro won the first game 25-22, the second 25-18, and the third 25-21 for the sweep. Junior Cheyenne Sherman led the team with 9 points and 2 aces, senior Kirsten Florio had 7 points and 2 aces, and junior Brianne Keane had 5 points and 3 aces. Kirsten Florio led the team with 16 kills and senior Morgan Florio had 13.
Sophomore Heidi Zuchowski had 2 solo blocks, Keane had 25 assists, and junior Sydney Tremper led the team with 17 digs whith Sherman making 16.
The Wellsboro JV team also swept on the night, picking up a 2-0 win (25-6, 25-14) to keep their undefeated season going. The young Lady Hornets are now 17-0 on the year, their best record under coach Michelle McNett.
The win improves the Varsity team's record to 11-6. The team will be back in action on Thursday, October 13 at Towanda.
