The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team's struggles continued as they were shut out 6-0 against Troy on Thursday, October 6.
Since putting together a 3-game win streak in the middle of September, the Lady Hornets have dropped 4 of their last 5 games, all of which they failed to score.
Troy's Brooke Ward and Riley McClellan both recorded hat tricks on the night. Nicole Spalding (1), McClellan (2), and Joelle Urban (2) all had assists on the night. Troy took 33 shots as a team and junior Kailee Clymer made 19 saves in goal for Wellsboro. Troy's defense shut down the Wellsboro offense and limited them to just 1 shot on goal by sophomore Elizabeth Macias.
Troy also had a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks on the night.
Troy also won the JV game 3-1. Sophomore Ruby Stocks scored the Lady Hornets' lone goal in the game.
The loss drops the Varsity team to 4-8-1 (4-4-1 NTL). The team will be back in action at Sayre on Saturday, October 8 at 10:00 a.m.
