The Wellsboro Girls Track team came home in fourth while the boys finished in 8th place at the NTL Track Championships in Athens on Saturday, May 14.
The Lady Hornets scored 71.5 points to finish behind champion Athens (192.5), Towanda (108), and Canton (72). Freshman Dahlia Hosey (13.26) was 6th in the 100m, senior Lindsey Graver (28.44) was 6th in the 200m, Freshman Zoe Iseri (1:08.76) was 9th in the 400m, senior Camryn Keane (2:47.23) was 11th in the 800m, and sophomore Anna Bleggi (5:50.56) was 8th in the 1600m and 5th in the 3200m (13:03.23).
Senior Haley Zuchowski (17.03) was 5th in the 100m hurdles and 3rd in the 300m hurdles (51.78), senior Mikayla Feil (4' 7") tied for 3rd in the high jump, senior Joey Taft (9' 2") was 2nd in the pole vault, Graver (15' 9.75") was 5th in the long jump and 6th in the triple jump (32' 2.5"), junior Samantha Spurgeon (23' 8.5") was 15th in the shot put, junior Hannah Lawton (85' 9") was 8th in the discus, and Feil was 5th in the javelin (98') with Spurgeon in 6th (94' 9").
The Lady Hornets rounded out the meet with a 2nd place finish in the 4x800m relay (11:06.77) and a 3rd place finish in the 4x400m relay (4:40.21).
On the boys side, the Hornets finished tied for 8th with Sayre with 28 points. Athens won the meet with 181 points, Wyalusing was 2nd (121), and Northeast Bradford was 3rd (99). Sophomore Chance LaViolette (25.47) was 14th in the 200m, junior Devan Warner (59.37) was 12th in the 400m, senior Isaac Leach (2:17.16) was 10th in the 800m, freshman Aidan Perry (4:54.84) was 7th in the 1600m, and sophomore Connor Brought (11:31.08) was 13th in the 3200m.
Freshman Isaac Wagner (48.37) was 10th in the 300m hurdles, junior Dupree Hosey (5' 4") was 4th in the high jump, sophomore Devin Webster (9' 3") was 6th in the pole vault, Dupree Hosey (20' 1") finished 3rd in the long jump and 5th in the triple jump (39' 5.75"), junior Casey Hoover (77' 4") was 22nd in the discus, and junior Brody Coolidge (118' 3") was 13th in the javelin.
In the relays the Hornets finished 8th in the 4x400m (4:14.48) and 3rd in the 4x800m (9:11.73).
9 members of the team will travel to Williamsport next weekend to compete at the District IV Track Championships. Zuchowski, Graver, Feil, Dahlia and Dupree Hosey, Taft, sophomore Kaitlyne Kramer, Leach, and senior Raisa Rogers.
