The Wellsboro Varsity Wrestling team came away winless at 0-5 in the Coudersport Duals on Saturday, January 9.
Senior Owen Covert won the Hornets' only match against the host Falcons as he pinned Ben Cochran in 1:20 at 285 lbs.
Junior Caleb Sinkler picked up a 7-3 decision against Hayden Victor at 145 lbs. and Covet and freshman Hunter Brown earned forfeits.
Senior Tyler Evans won by forfeit at 132 lbs. and junior Kaleb Smith won his first match of the year with a 7-1 decision against Tavin Hooper at 285 lbs.
The Hornets lost on criteria. Hunter Brown, freshmen Brennan Catherman and Robert Brown all picked up forfeits and Covert won a 2-0 decision against William Peluso.
Robert Brown pinned Aiden Phelps at 195 lbs. and Covert pinned Cougar Vannucci at 285 lbs. for the Hornets two wins of the match.
The losses drop Wellsboro to 0-11 (0-5 NTL). The team will be back in action on Tuesday, January 12 as they host Athens.
