The Wellsboro Golf team took home a 2nd place finish on the links at Towanda Country Club on Thursday, September 8.
The Hornets shot 362 as a team, trailing Northern Tioga's 333. North Penn-Mansfield was 3rd (372), Towanda was 4th (392), Northeast Bradford was 5th (401), Sayre was 6th (403), and Athens was 7th (411).
The win moves Northern Tioga (22-2) a game ahead of Wellsboro in the NTL standings.
Sophomore Taynton Repard led the way on the afternoon with a round of 86, followed by sophomore Ben Barnett with an 87, and sophomore Brandyn Tuttle with an 88. Sophomore Chris Richardson carded a 101, freshman Joseph Propheta finished with a 103, and junior Zach Lundgren came home with a 104.
The runner-up finish gives the Hornets a record of 21-3. The team will be back in action on Monday, September 19 at Tioga Country Club in Nichols, NY.
