The Wellsboro Varsity Wrestling team dropped their last NTL match to Williamson, 39-24 on Saturday, January 30.
The match started at 195 lbs. with Nathan Larrison pinning freshman Robert Brown, followed by Zane Fuller scoring a 7-0 decision over sophomore Nick Ingerick at 220 lbs. Senior Owen Covert scored a forfeit win for Wellsboro at 285 lbs. before a double forfeit at 106 lbs.
Williamson won by forfeit at 113 lbs., 120 lbs., and 160lbs. Senior Tyler Evans won by forfeit at 132 lbs, Williamson's Jordan Weinrich pinned freshman Kris Stringham at 138 lbs., Casey McLaughlin pinned sophomore Cory Busch at 145 lbs., and junior Caleb Sinkler pinned Williamson's Trey Zimmerman at 152 lbs. Freshman Hunter Brown won the final match for the Hornets by forfeit at 170 lbs.
The loss drops the Hornets' record to 1-14 (1-8 NTL). The Middle School team won their fourth match of the year 48-0 with all wins coming by forfeit.
