The Wellsboro Varsity Wrestling team suffered a 76-0 loss at the hands of Lewisburg on Friday, January 8.
The match started at 152 lbs. as Lewisburg's Zane Yoder pinned sophomore Cory Busch in 1:42, Trey Delbaugh pinned freshman Brennan Catherman in 1:26 at 160 lbs., Morgan Getkin won a 7-1 decision over freshman Hunter Brown at 170 lbs., and Dakotah Snyder scored a 10-2 major decision against freshman Robert Brown at 195 lbs.
Senior Owen Covert's match went into extra time where he lost 2-1 to Cody Palmer at 285 lbs., Chase Prutzman pinned senior Tyler Evans in 5:59 at 138 lbs., and Skyler Anderson pinned junior Caleb Sinkler in 4:55 at 145 lbs.
The loss drops the Hornets' record to 0-6 (0-5 NTL). The team is in action today at the Coudersport Duals.
