The Wellsboro Varsity Boys Basketball team's skid continued as they fell to Northeast Bradford 49-45 on Thursday, January 14.
Sophomore Quinn Henry tied his career-best night with 17 points but the Hornets dropped their third game in a row. Wellsboro trailed by a point after the first quarter, but Northeast Bradord scored 19 second quarter points to take a 27-18 lead at halftime.
The Hornets made up ground in the third quarter but still trailed but still trailed 37-31 coming into the final quarter.Wellsboro managed to outscore Northeast Bradford 14-12 in the final frame, but their attempt at a come back came up short.
Henry led all scorers with 17 points, junior Jacob Singer scored eight points, sophomores Collin Pietropola and Nic Ingerick scored six points each, senior Dawson Prough scored five points, and junior Alden Weiner rounded out the scoring with three points.
Henry and Pietropola also added eight rebounds each.
The JV team kept their undefeated season going with a 33-25 victory. Pietropola led the team with 10 points, Ingerick finished with nine points, and freshman Andrew Brelo scored eight.
The loss drops the Hornets' record to 7-6. The team will be back in action on Saturday, January 16 as they host North Penn-Liberty.
