Senior Kirsten Florio was named to the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association (PVCA) 2016 All-State team on Wednesday, December 14.
"I wasn't expecting this at all," Florio said. "It's honestly a blessing and means so much. I've worked so hard and am so honored to be recognized as part of the All-State volleyball team."
Florio led the Lady Hornets in multiple stat categories this year including kills (275), aces (39), and blocks (69) to be named to the state list for AA. Florio also recorded 540 kills in three years at the Varsity level, and had a career high (24) against Troy on October 18.
"I am very pleased to see that Kirsten has been recognized as an All-State player," said Wellsboro head coach Sharon Zuchowski. "The Coaches Association only picks 40-45 girls in the entire state so it speaks volumes of her skill and ability. She has a very bright collegiate career ahead of her."
WellsboroAthletics.com would like to congratulate Kirsten on making the All-State team and thank her for all her hard work and dedication throughout her career.
