The Wellsboro Middle School Volleyball team suffered their second loss of the season to Liberty on Saturday, October 10.

The A-team lost in two sets, 25-17 and 25-18. The team played extremely well considering we were without Ryann Adams and Grace Brueilly due to injuries. Bri Kemp (7th grader) stepped into Ryann's position and had a phenomenal game with 10 serves, 16 passes, one assist, and 4 spikes. Liza Manning (6) and Megan Starkweather (7) led the team with serves. Caitlyn Callahan (7) and Liza Manning (5) led the team in spikes, and Cathryn Brought had 9 assists.

"In both sets, we had them on their heals by taking the lead a couple times, but just not being able to to keep the momentum going and picking up serves from a particular server," said head coach Jen Outman. "I was very proud of their teamwork, hard work, and performance."

The B-team also lost in two sets, 25-17, 25-16. Chelsie English lead the team with 15 passes and 5 sets.  Ashayla Faulkner had 10 passes, 1 set, and 1 spike.

The loss drops the Lady Hornets' record to 7-2. The team will be back in action tomorrow as they travel to Cowanesque Valley.
