The Wellsboro Middle School Soccer team rallied to defeat Sayre 6-1 on Monday, September 21.
The Hornets found themselves trailing 1-0 early on, but Wellsboro tied the game at 1-1 as Kaeden Mann scored off an assist from Will Poirier. Poirier then scored the second Hornet goal of the afternoon off an assist from Mann.
Conrad Becker scored off a Joseph Grab assist, Poirier scored his second goal of the evening after dribbling past the Sayre defense, Mann scored his second goal off an assist from Becker, and Zach Singer scored the final goal for the Hornets off an assist from Becker.
"I am pleased with how we are sharing the ball," said head coach Ed Hamm. "Now we need to focus on getting the ball to the wings more frequently instead of always trying to push the ball up the middle."
In the B-team game the Hornets won 2-1. Anthony Romania scored off an assist from Jonathan Wetzel. Romania also scored the game-winning goal unassisted for the Hornets.
The Hornets are now 3-1 on the year. The team will be back in action on Thursday, September 24 as they hit the road to face Williamson.
