The Wellsboro Middle School Boys Basketball team won their eighth consecutive game with a 50-36 win over Williamson on Monday, April 6.

Wellsboro used full court defensive pressure to build a 10-0 lead to start the game, but Williamson would close the gap to 12-6 to finish the quarter. Williamson outscored Wellsboro in the second quarter 10-9, but the Hornets still maintained a 21-16 lead at halftime.

Williamson, however, did not give up in the second half. Wellsboro's defensive pressure and unselfishness on the defensive end secured the win.

Brandyn Tuttle scored 14 points to lead the Hornets and Andrew Brelo scored 13. Taynton Repard added six points, and Nate Redell and Cameron Tennis each scored four points. Carson Davis, Ben Barnett, Isaac Bechtel, and Aidan Perry all scored two points and Tanner Button pitched in one point.

"Tonight was another great team win," said head coach Ed Hamm. "Like any game there were some things we could have done better, however overall everyone is playing absolutely fantastic as a team. If you take a look at our roster you may not always see these guys names make the stat report, but each player has improved since the beginning of the year and contributes."

The B team also won 26-12 on the night. Karter Witmer led the way with seven points and Davis had five.

The Hornets now improve to 15-5 and will play their final game on Wednesday, April 8 when they travel to Liberty.
