The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Basketball team ended a two game losing streak as they beat Troy, 49-27 on Friday, January 2.
The Lady Hornets outscored Troy 8-6 in the first quarter and found themselves up 19-14 at halftime after an 11 point second quarter. The Lady Hornets would outscored Troy 30-13 in the second half to claim the victory.
Juniors Sarah Ingerick and Jada Jackson each led the team with 10 points. Ingerick also added five steals, while Jackson grabbed nine rebounds. Junior Raisa Rogers finished with eight points, Senior Jordan Butters had six, Sophomore Jessica Grab added four points, Freshman Rachael Tuttle pitched in three points, and Junior Alexa Singer, Senior Peyton Wilson, Sophomore Janessa Davis, and Freshman Lizzie Poirier all added two points.
With the win, the Lady Horents improve to 5-4 (1-1 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Wednesday, January 7 as they travel to Wyalusing.
