The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team lost to Athens for the second time in a week, 3-0, on Monday, September 21.
The Lady Wildcats scored all three goals in the first half. At the 16 minute mark, Morgan Ferguson scored to make it 1-0 and then later made it 2-0 with 18:02 on the clock. Athens' third goal came in the 26th minute by Abby Cuno.
Wellsboro out-shot Athens 28-21 and Athens had a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks. Sophomore Kailee Clymer recorded 15 saves in goal.
Wellsboro also lost the JV game 8-0.
With the loss, the Lady Hornets fall to 2-2-1 (1-2-1 NTL). The team will be back in action on Wednesday, September 23 as they travel to Troy.
