The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team picked up their second win in as many days with a 3-0 defeat of Cowanesque Valley on Tuesday, October 6.
The Lady Hornets won the first set 25-15, the second 25-12, and the third 25-13 in the non-division matchup. The Wellsboro JV team also won 2-0 (25-16, 25-13) to improve to 8-4 for coach Michelle McNett's 51st career JV win.
Senior Darci Warriner led had 4 kills and senior Haley Zuchowski and junior Kirsten Florio each had 3 kills. Senior Maddy Kyle had 9 assists and junior Morgan Florio had 8 assists. Junior Olivia Kurtz scored 11 points (1 ace), sophomore Brianne Keane had 10 points and an ace, and Warriner scored 6 points with 4 aces.
Zuchowski recorded 7 digs, Kyle had 6 digs, and senior Mikayla Feil, Kirsten Florio, and Morgan Florio all had 1 block.
The win improves the Lady Hornets' record to 11-1 (5-1 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Monday, October 12 as they host Coudersport.
