The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team extended their win streak to 8 games with a 3-0 defeat of Athens on Thursday, October 15 during Senior Night.
The win was also head coach Sharon Zuchowski's 50th of her career at Wellsboro.
The Lady Hornets won 25-9, 25-17, and 25-16. Senior Mikayla Feil had 12 kills and 3 blocks, senior Darci Warriner had 9 kills and 11 points (2 aces), and sisters Kirsten Florio and Morgan Florio had 7 kills each. Kirsten also had 3 blocks on the night and Morgan recorded 13 assists.
Senior Maddy Kyle scored 7 points and made 18 assists, senior Haley Zuchowski made 10 digs, and senior Hannah Wagaman led the team with 18 digs.
The JV team won 2-0 (25-14, 25-19) to extend their win streak to 4 games and to improve their record to 11-4. The Varsity team's win improves their record to 14-1 (7-1 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Tuesday, October 20 over in Wyalusing.
