Hornet Volleyball sweeps Canton

The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team picked up their first win of the season with a 3-0 sweep of Canton on Tuesday, September 8.
The Lady Hornets won the first set 25-7, the second 25-11, and the third 25-14. Senior Haley Zuchowski led the team with 18 points and an ace, senior Darci Warriner scored 8 points and had an ace, and senior Maddy Kyle had 7 points, an ace, and 12 assists.
Warriner had 8 kills and 7 digs, junior Morgan Florio had had 6 kills and 13 assists, and senior Mikayla Feil had 5 kills and a block. Senior Hannah Wagaman also added 15 digs on the night.
In the JV game, Wellsboro won 2-0 (25-13, 25-11).
With the win, the Lady Hornets start 2015 at 1-0. The team will be back in action on Thursday, September 10 as they host Williamson.
