The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team had their nine-game win streak snapped as they lost 3-1 to Towanda on Thursday, October 22.
Towanda won the first set 25-20 and Wellsboro won the second 25-11 to tie it at 1-1. Towanda then took the third set 25-20 and the fourth 25-19 to win the match.
Senior Darci Warriner had 16 kills, junior Kirsten Florio had 11 kills, and senior Haley Zuchowski had 7 kills. Senior Maddy Kyle had 18 assists and junior Morgan Florio had 17 assists. Zuchowski led the team with 15 points (2 aces), Morgan Florio had 13 points (1 ace), and senior Mikayla Feil had 9 points (1 ace).
Senior Hannah Wagaman made 25 digs, Zuchowski added 20 digs, and Kirsten Florio recorded 3 blocks.
Towanda won the JV game 2-1 (21-25, 18-25, 15-13).
The loss drops the Lady Hornets' record to 15-2 (8-2 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Tuesday, October 27 as they host Liberty.
