The Wellsboro Boys Track team swept Canton and Towanda on Tuesday, April 21.
The Hornets scored 71.5 points to score their third consecutive first place finish. Canton was 2nd with 65 points and Towanda was third with 52.5.
Senior Michael Pietropola (11.2) was 2nd in the 100m and Junior Rich Tardieu (11.4) was 4th, Senior Kieron Smethers (24.2) was 2nd and Senior Brieux Thibaut (25.4) was 4th in the 200m, Smethers (53.4) was 2nd in the 400m, Junior Isaac Leach (2:20.1) was 3rd in the 800m and 2nd in the 1600m (5:18.5), and 3rd in the 3200m (12:10).
Senior Jack Chambers (17.3) won the 110m hurdles and Sophomore Casey Hoover (21.0) was 2nd, Chambers won the 300m hurdles (44.6), and the 4x100m relay team of Senior Nick Marple, Pietropola, Smethers, and Tardieu won in 45.1.
Marple (5' 8") and Tardieu (5' 6") swept the high jump, Freshman Devin Webster (8') was 2nd in the pole vault, Pietropola (19' 0.5") won the long jump, and Tardieu (39' 6.5) and Thibaut (38' 6") swept the triple jump.
Senior Jonas Benner (37' 7.25") was 2nd in the shot put and 3rd in the discus (81' 7"), and Sophomore Brody Coolidge (102' 7") was 2nd and Senior Dylan Plume (91') was 4th in the javelin.
With the wins, the Hornets improve to 4-2. The team will be back in action on Saturday, April 25 as they participate in the Lock Haven Invite.
